Dennis DeJesus
1st Vice Chairman of Operations
Dennis DeJesus has dedicated his life to serving his community through a myriad of influential roles and organizations. As the Past President and CEO of Special Olympics Rhode Island, Dennis demonstrated unparalleled commitment and leadership, driving the organization towards greater inclusivity and empowerment for athletes with intellectual disabilities. His tenure at Special Olympics Rhode Island is marked by significant advancements in athletic programs and community outreach, reflecting his unwavering dedication to the cause.
Prior to his impactful work with Special Olympics Rhode Island, Dennis served as the Director of Parks and Recreation under Mayor Michael Traficante. In this role, he was instrumental in enhancing recreational facilities and programs, ensuring that community members of all ages had access to quality recreational opportunities. His efforts in this capacity not only improved the physical landscape of the city but also fostered a stronger sense of community and well-being among residents.
Dennis's influence extends deeply into youth sports and education. As the former President, Board Member, and Coach of Cranston Western Little League, he played a pivotal role in shaping the league’s developmental programs, emphasizing sportsmanship, skill development, and community engagement. His contributions as a Coach and Referee for CLCF Softball and Basketball, as well as a Coach for Edgewood South Elmwood Little League, further underscore his dedication to nurturing young talent and promoting the values of teamwork and fair play.
In the academic realm, Dennis served with distinction as a Teacher, Coach, and Administrator at Bishop Hendricken High School. His commitment to education and student development was evident in his efforts to create a supportive and enriching environment for both academics and athletics. His work at Bishop Hendricken High School has left a lasting legacy, influencing countless students and athletes.
Currently, Dennis continues to shape the future of education as a Board Member at the Apprenticeship Exploration School. In this role, he is involved in strategic planning and governance, contributing to the school’s mission of providing innovative and practical learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dennis is a dedicated communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish, where he actively participates in the spiritual and community life of the parish. His strong faith and commitment to service are evident in all aspects of his life.
Dennis’s personal life is equally fulfilling. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Liz, and a proud father of two children, Kelsey and Michael. His family is a cornerstone of his life, providing him with unwavering support and inspiration in all his endeavors.

Frank Ritz Jr.
2nd Vice Chairman of Operations
Frank Ritz is a dedicated public servant with a profound commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Cranston. As an experienced and dynamic leader, he serves in multiple influential roles that underscore his dedication to civic engagement and community improvement.
Frank holds a key position on the School Committee for Ward 4, where he works tirelessly to ensure that the educational needs of the community's youth are met with excellence and equity. His commitment to public education is further exemplified by his leadership as the chairman of The City's Park and Recreation Committee, where he champions initiatives to improve and expand recreational facilities and green spaces in Cranston.
In his political career, Frank exhibits robust leadership and strategic acumen. He is the 2nd Vice-Chairman of Operations for the Cranston GOP, a crucial role in which he manages party operations and fortifies the party's presence and influence within the city. Additionally, he serves as a State Delegate and the Ward chair, actively participating in state-level decision-making processes and advocating for policies that benefit his constituents.
Beyond his political and public service roles, Frank is deeply embedded in the fabric of the Cranston community. He is a devoted coach for his three children’s various sports teams, dedicating countless hours to mentoring young athletes and fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. His commitment to community service extends to his involvement with the Rotary Club, where he collaborates with fellow Rotarians on projects that address local and international needs.
Frank’s leadership extends to the business community as well. He is an esteemed board member on two Chambers of Commerce, where he contributes his insights and expertise to support local businesses and promote economic development. His service within the Oaklawn Grange Society further highlights his dedication to preserving and enhancing community traditions and values.

Anthony Melillo
1st Vice Chairman of Fundraising
Anthony, a long-time resident of the Garden City neighborhood in Cranston, lives with his wife, Elena, and is a proud father to three daughters: Alison, Abigail, and Vanessa. Currently, he serves as the Ward 6 School Committee representative.
"I have been blessed to raise my family in the City of Cranston over the past 30+ years and to have sent three of my daughters through the Cranston Public School System."
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Culinary Arts, Anthony has dedicated over 30 years to the Foodservice Industry. Notably, he spent 17 years as a successful Food Service Director for the Cranston Department of Senior Services. During his tenure, he developed department budgets and became well-versed in the intricacies of the City Budget process.
Today, Anthony is the Director of Sales for DiLanna Foodservice, a local food service distributor, where he continues to leverage his extensive industry experience.
Paula Smith
Secretary
Paula Smith, a dedicated public servant and seasoned political professional, has been a cornerstone of the Cranston community for 35 years. Alongside her husband Don, a lifelong Cranstonian, and their two grown sons, Paula has consistently demonstrated her commitment to local and state politics.
Since joining the Cranston Republican City Committee (CRCC) in 2014, Paula's political acumen has been instrumental in various successful campaigns, including her pivotal role as Finance Director for Mayor Allan Fung’s gubernatorial campaign. Her expertise and dedication led her to serve as Mayor Fung’s Confidential Executive Assistant for seven years and to reprise her role in his 2018 gubernatorial campaign.
With the election of Mayor Ken Hopkins, Paula was appointed Director of Constituent Affairs, a position she held until she transitioned to Allan Fung’s 2022 Congressional campaign. Her leadership qualities were further recognized during her tenure as President of the Rhode Island Federation of Republican Women and her active involvement on the Executive Committee of the Rhode Island GOP (RIGOP).
Currently, Paula serves as the Secretary of the CRCC and represents the city committee as a delegate to the RI GOP State Central Committee. Her professional journey is marked by a steadfast dedication to serving her community and advancing Republican values in Rhode Island.
